Frontier Reflection - A Look Back

The FHS Counselors have been busy recruiting for next year and have given all 11th graders either a voucher, or a fee waiver for a FREE ACT.

Trailblazer Vision- A Look Ahead

December 1- SAT

December 5- Toys for Tots

December 8- ACT

December 20- End of 1st semester

December 21- Student Holiday/Teacher Workday

December 24-January 4- Winter Holiday

January 7-Student Holiday/Teacher Workday

January 8- 2nd semester begins

January 14- FHS 11th grade registration for next year begins

January 21- MLK Holiday

Blaze Into Your Destiny-Post Secondary Planning

11th Graders: Access and for questions of the day to begin preparing for PSAT/SAT and ACT. Also remember that there is a link to free test prep through Khan Academy within the collegeboard website. Be sure you are staying on track with your classes and grades. Begin to make college lists and gather information about colleges you are interested in attending. Continue participating in community service and/or volunteer work. Schedule a trip to colleges your student may be interesting in attending. Register to take SAT/ACT; most juniors take them in the winter or spring. You can take them again in the fall of your senior year if you wish.

12th Graders: Continue to stay on track with your classes and grades. Follow up on the applications you have sent. Submit financial aid forms and check to see what you qualify for. After 1st semester, send mid-year grade reports. Continue participating in community service and/or volunteer work. Be sure you continue to visit the FHS Scholarship Page at:

Trailblazers Take Action- Recommended Action Items

Be sure you are taking advantage of meeting with our GO Center Mentor Tuesday/Thursday 7:00-3:00. They can help if you are attending any college/university. If you plan to attend UTA, please come by to meet your UTA Counselor- Shannon Shaver. She will be here every other Thursday all day. You can also join her Remind by texting @utar to 81010. They have a wealth of information on the college search process, SAT/ACT, college applications, FAFSA and applying for scholarships. Please also remember to visit the FHS website regarding scholarships that we receive almost daily.
