SHS Announcements Sept. 14-18

Here are the SHS announcements this week . . . 

  • Summit parking stickers - they will be on sale in the cafeteria during all lunches through Friday, September 18. Parking stickers can be purchased for $15.
     
  • Library Books - Still have a library book you need to turn in from last year? Ms. Tahaney would love to take those back. No fees. No fines. No questions asked. Drop your library book in the big blue box sitting outside the library. It's open 24-7.
     
  • End of the 6 Weeks - This Friday, September 18th, is the last day of the 1st 6-weeks. Students make sure you have turned in ALL work before Friday!
     
  • Parking Guidelines - Today is the last day to purchase a student parking permit in the cafeteria.  Students can also purchase a parking permit at the Mansfield ISD Police Department located at 1522 N Walnut Creek Dr. Mansfield, Tx . Police Department is Open 24/7.   

    Staff and Students please be aware of the parking lot rules. Here are few of the common parking violations:
    •  No backing in or pull through parking
    •  No parking in visitor’s parking in front of school
    •  No student parking in staff parking (yellow lines)
    •  All vehicles must have a parking decal (Permit) unless you have a current temporary dealer paper tag. (Expired Paper dealer Tags shouldn’t be driven onto campus until their current)
    •  Speed limit on school parking lot is 15-MPH at all times

    Parking lot enforcement will start on Monday September 21,2020. 
    •   No parking permit citation are $30 

  • Senior Parking Spots - Senior parking spots available for purchase. If you are a senior and would like to purchase your own parking spot to paint please purchase from Bookeeper in the front office for $27. The sale will continue until Sept. 25th and we will paint the spots on Saturday 26th from 7am - 4pm. Once you have your receipt come to F1 A.Johnson's room to select your spot (first come first serve) and details about painting.

  • XC Accolades - Yesterday the Cross Country teams had an outstanding day competing at the Midlothian Invitational. The Varsity Girls led off with a 4th place overall finish. Leading the way for the girls were Emerson Voldan in 1st place and Nour Almasri finishing in 8th. Emerson, in only her 2nd high school race took gold in a time of 19:11 which ranks #2 All-Time at Summit! The Varsity Boys were not to be outdone and they finished 1st overall in a very tight race, beating Richland by 2 points. Jackson Cichon won gold with a time of 15:42 in a photo finish, followed by Eric Espinal in 3rd and Cris Santana in 6th. Finishing out the top 5 for the guys were Martin Nguyen and Alex Andonov. Great job Cross Country!

  • Food Policy - MISD district policy states schools are not allowing outside food of any kind to be dropped off.
    You may add money to your cafeteria account on the district website under cafeteria menus tab .
    You may use MySchoolCafe App (Phone)/ ID Card/ Keypad (Last Option) to pay for lunch .
    You may also add money to your account in person via cash or check (made out to MISD) .
