SHS Announcements Sept 13-17
  • Yearbook Picture Days - School photos will be taken for freshmen, sophomores and juniors tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14th and Wednesday, September 15th during English classes. Students should have received information about this from their English teacher. All staff members will also be photographed during this time. You may go to the front of the line when you arrive. Please take the time to do this as students ask Ms. Best every year why their favorite teachers are not in the yearbook. SENIORS: If you missed the summer dates in July, senior photo retakes will be Tuesday, September 21st and Wednesday, September 22nd during the school day. Details will be coming soon about how to sign up. If you have questions, please see Ms. Best in J8.
     
  • Band Accolades - This weekend, Nicolas Lopez competed at the Region 5 Jazz Auditions at Southwest HS. He made 2nd chair overall, and advanced to the Area round. Congratulations to Nick Lopez!
     
  • TAFE Meeting - All TAFE members interested in competing this year, need to go to J4 during advisory on Wednesday.
     
  • Volleyball Game on Friday - Attention All Teachers! This Friday September 17th is Teacher Appreciation Night at our Home Volleyball match against Timberview. We would love for you to be there...so we can honor you at our varsity volleyball match. The match will start at 5:30...please be there around 5:00. We will honor all teachers around 5:15 before the match starts.
     
  • Free State Fair Ticket - Students, if you are interested in attending the state fair this year, stop by your AP's office for a free Student Admission ticket.
     
  • Yearbook Order Information - Students, you may purchase a 2022 yearbook for the lowest cost all year NOW at www.yearbookforever.com. If you have questions, please see Ms. Best in J8.
     
  • Art Club - Do you want a great opportunity to meet and collaborate with like minded creatives? Art club is a place where students who are interested in the visual arts can meet and create together. You are welcome to participate anytime and do not need to currently be enrolled in an art class to join. Art Club will meet every Thursday from 3:15-4:00 PM in K3.
     
  • MSA Meeting - Students, the Muslim Student's Association will be meeting in room D2 after school from 3 to 4 o'clock on Thursday September 16. We will be talking about officer elections and other planning on the first meeting. If you are interested come see Mrs. Bhatti in room D2 for more information.
     
  • HOCO Dance - Homecoming dance tickets are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased online using Pay K12 for $25 each, no tickets will be sold at the door. You can find the link to Pay K12 on the district website, the StuCo instagram page, or look for a flyer with qr code at lunch.
     
  • Spirit Night Sept. 20th - Do you LOVE Chipotle, then show your spirit on September 20th at Chipotle on Cooper St. Let them know you are a Summit Jag for Spirit Night! See you there.
     
  • Library Info - The library is open for business. We are open before school at 7:05, and we are open during all 4 lunches. Come see us to check out a book, complete this month’s scavenger hunt, or if you just want a quieter place to hang out. See Mrs. Tahaney for details.
     
  • Freshman Officers Needed - Attention all freshmen! Do you want to be more involved on campus? Would you like to create lasting friendships and bring out the best in your school? Then become a freshman class officer! Multiple positions are available. Come to room D4 this Wednesday the 22nd at 3pm to find out more.
