SHS Announcements Jan 11-15

Here are this week's announcements . . . 

  • TCC Textbooks - Attention TCC students: Don’t forget to turn in your text books from last semester and pick up your new ones for this semester. Go to the K Hall office or email Ms. Dean if you have any questions.
     
  • 40 Book Pledge Virtual Meeting - Does your New Year's resolution include reading more books?  Then the 40 book pledge is the club for you. Our first virtual meeting of 2021 will be Jan 12th on TEAMs. The post will be available for comment by 10am. Can't wait to hear about what you have been reading! See Mrs. Tahaney if you are ready to join our conversation on TEAMs.
     
  • SHS Swim Accolades - Congratulations to our Summit Swim Team for their performances at last Saturday's swim meet! Our Jaguars participated at a high level during their last tri-meet of the season as they complete preparations for our district meet in two weeks. Our event winners were Ashley Lien, Emma Mutterer, Jonny Hinkle and Nathan Chugito. Special congratulations to our swimmer of the meet, Jonny Hinkle, for achieving a best time and winning his 100 butterfly event!!
    Our next stop will be the UIL District 8-5A Championship, Friday January 22nd at 5pm.

  • Track Info - Attention all students wanting to run track. Due to the current COVID situation we will not be having our normal Track interest meeting, however there are blue signs posted throughout the school building, as well as an email was sent out to all students concerning this matter from Mr. Mutterer this week where you can scan the QR code and it will take you to all the necessary paper work and allow you to sign up for tryouts which will be held Jan 19th.
     
  • Library Books - If you checked out a library book in the year 2020, you probably need to return it. Your book is overdue. You can return your book to any of the ladies in the library or put it in the big blue box near the library entrance. There are no fees or fines. Don't delay. Return your library book today!
     
  • 2021 Yearbook for Sale - You can buy the 2021 Summit High School yearbook NOW! From now to May 14, the cost is only $70! Please visit yearbookforever.com to pay with credit card, debit card or PayPal. If you need to pay with cash, check or money order, Please see Ms. Best in J8.
     
  • SAT Info - If you are a junior and will be taking the SAT being administered on March 24th, MISD is offering SAT strategy sessions at the Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, January 23rd, February 6th, and February 27th from 9 am to Noon. Please register using the QR code on the green flyers posted around campus.
