- Attendance - Teachers please make sure you are entering your attendance within the first 20 minutes of each class period.
- Spirit Night - Plan to come to On the Border in Mansfield this Wednesday night for our first Spirit Night. Let them know you are with Summit and we will receive a portion of the proceeds!
- Special Dress Day - Thursday is pajama day. So help us "Sleep on the Trojans" by wearing your school appropriate pajamas on that day.
- Mob Dance Crew - Do you love to dance? Then you should join The MOB Dance Crew! Come learn hip hop dances every Monday and Wednesday from 3 - 5pm in the Jag Room. Get the chance to perform at pep rallies, basketball games and more! If you just want to learn you're welcome too. Find a flyer and scan the QR to sign up now. The first meeting is Monday Aug 30th. - Teacher Dance Pep Rally - Calling all teachers! An email was sent out earlier asking for volunteers for a teacher dance. Please email Kathy Atkinson at your earliest convenience if you are interested in joining the fun for our annual teacher dance performance.
- Senior Sunrise - SENIORS Get ready to join the luau at your senior sunrise on August 27th at 6:30am to 7:15am on the football field. See Ms. A. Johnson or Ms. T. Johnson for more details.
- NHS Meeting - The National Honor Society has its first meeting of the year on Thursday August 26 at 3:05pm in D5. The meeting should only last about 15 minutes. All members need to be present unless involved in a school activity.
- Parking Permits - The MISD police department wants to remind the students and staff that parking will be enforced starting Sept. 7th. If you don’t have an MISD parking permit, you will need to go to the MISD police department (behind Brooks-Wester MS) to get your permit. An additional reminder about parking. Please make sure the back of your car is facing traffic. In other words, no pull-through parking or backing into a space.

The Top Cat Can Food Drive - against Mansfield Starts on Thursday and goes until September 2. We need everyone's help to defeat Mansfield this year. Freshmen take cans to H15, Sophomores to K3, Juniors to F1, and Seniors to D5. Get a free ID Pass if you bring 5 or more cans!

Theatre Info - Are you interested in performing onstage in Summit Theatre's first production of the year? Or are you interested in helping backstage or with tech? Then come to PAC - Performing Arts Center - this Wednesday at 3:30! You will need to bring your audition form with you - which you can get by talking to Ms. Phillips or Mr. Corley in the theatre! We hope to see you all there for The 39 Steps auditions this Wednesday after school!

40 Book Pledge - Do you like to read? Then the 40 Book Pledge is the right club for you. See Mrs. Tahaney in the library, or scan the QR code on one of the flyers near the library, the I hall, or the cafeteria.

School Picture Days - School photos will be taken for freshmen, sophomores and juniors on Tuesday, September 14th and Wednesday, September 15th during English classes. Students will receive information about this from their English teacher in the next week or two. SENIORS: If you missed the summer dates in July, senior photo retakes will be Tuesday, September 21st and Wednesday, September 22nd during the school day. Spirit Week - Next week we will be celebrating "Start with Hello" Week with different activities and dress-up days! Start With Hello is an important social and emotional learning program to reintroduce students to the power of connecting and helping one another. Monday is hat day. “Hats off to being kind.” Tuesday is beach day. “Bring your own sunshine.” Wednesday is Tie Dye day. “Brighten someone’s day.” Thursday is Blue Out day. “Spread Summit Love.”

Library - For those of you who are ready to check out books, the library will be open before school and during lunch starting on Monday, August 30th. Don’t forget to bring your ID. If you want to check out a book during class, you need your school ID and a pass. See Mrs. Tahaney for details.
